Community Counselling & Addiction Services

The Older Adults Program at Atikokan Community Counselling Services began in 1987. The Program assists individuals 60 years of age and older with a dementia or serious mental illness such as:

• Depression
• Anxiety Disorders
• Personality Disorders
• Alzheimer’s Disease
• Vascular Dementia
• Early Onset Dementia

Services include:

• Assessment and Cognitive Screening
• Counselling
• Cognitive – Behavioural Interventions
• Care and Treatment Planning
• Referral and Advocacy
• Monitoring
• Education and Support to Caregivers
• Access to Geriatric Psychiatry
