The Registered Nurse is an integral member of the Atikokan Family Health Team. The RN is responsible for duties including, but not limited to, wound care management, smoking cessation, hospital post-discharge programming, COPD education, spirometry, and nursing services for the overflow Home and Community Care contract. The successful candidate will gain valuable patient care experience and build connections within an interprofessional environment in a family healthcare setting. RN practice will be enhanced through ongoing learning and education. This position is Monday to Friday; 8-hour days with the occasional evening shift to support our evening clinics.

The Health Records Technician codes, abstracts, and submits DAD and NACRS data following CIHI standards and provincial and organizational guidelines. The Health Records Technician is responsible for data quality and analysis, transcription, release of information, record retention, and other department activities, as assigned. Under the general supervision and direction of the Environmental Services Manager, the Network Technician will provide user support for problem determination and resolution, assist in hardware and software installations and specific project implementations as directed by the Environmental Services Manager. The Network Technician also works closely with the various information systems consultants to AHCS.

Under the direction of the Outpatient Services Manager, the Counsellor provides individual, group or family counselling to individuals 16 years of age and older who are experiencing difficulties in areas of emotional/mental health, or are concerned about their own or others’ substance use or process addictions. Services provided include: individual, group or family counselling; arranging psychiatric consultations; crisis intervention and suicide prevention; drug, alcohol and gambling assessments (ages 12 and up); referral to residential treatment; community treatment and relapse prevention, as appropriate. The Counsellor will also provide emergency support on a rotating on-call basis.
