Here When it Matters Most
When a medical emergency happens, when care is needed urgently, or when recovery requires additional support...
...Atikokan General Hospital (AGH) is here for the community. As part of Atikokan Health and Community Services (AHCS), the hospital provides essential care for residents of Atikokan and surrounding communities, including Seine River and Lac La Croix First Nation.
A broad range of services are offered, designed to keep care as close to home as possible. With 24/7 emergency services, inpatient and acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation services, and diagnostic supports, the hospital plays a critical role in ensuring individuals and families can access timely, high-quality care within their own community.
Working closely with the Atikokan Family Health Team and other AHCS services, the hospital is part of a connected care journey that supports patients before, during, and after a hospital visit. Through collaboration, technology such as telemedicine, and a dedicated local care team, AGH helps ensure people receive the right care at the right time.
As a fully accredited 41-bed hospital, AGH may be modest in size, but its impact is significant. Every day, the hospital’s team provides compassionate care that strengthens the health and well-being of residents and the many visitors who come to experience the Atikokan area and the broader Rainy River District.
In a small northern community, access to hospital care close to home makes a meaningful difference. Atikokan General Hospital is proud to be here — supporting the health of the community today and into the future.
