ABOUT US
The Atikokan General Hospital Foundation was founded in January 2004 and is an independent charitable corporation with its own Board of Directors.
Our mission is to “To provide financial support to the Atikokan General Hospital for the purchase of medical equipment or facility improvements to meet the health care needs of our community”.
Our hospital is a vital and integral part of our community. At one time or another, every person in the community has used its services and programs. Medical equipment has and will continue to be very expensive and as new technology arises consistently, we see the costs rising dramatically in the future. That technology allows the hospital to provide new services that previously would only have been available to residents of Atikokan if they traveled outside of the community. A modern, well-equipped, and technologically advanced hospital is crucially important to the recruitment and retention of physicians and other health care professionals.
