Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager and under general supervision of the Dietary Lead Hand, the Cook is responsible for meal preparation and delivery in a manner consistent with all regulations as specified by the Long-Term Care Homes Act and related acts.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  1. Successful completion of Food Service Worker program as mandated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
  2. Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Three years’ experience in institutional food service and experience in large quantity food preparation and cooking.
  4. Completion of Certified Food Handling course through local Public Health Unit.
  5. Ability to lift 21 kg or 50 lbs
