Job Summary:

Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager and Chief Nursing Officer, Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) are accountable to provide quality nursing care to stable patients whose outcomes are predictable. Registered Practical Nurses promote health, assess, plan, provide, coordinate and evaluate care and treatment with the ultimate goal of achieving the best possible patient outcomes. Delivery of patient care and professional practice is consistent with the scope of practice of the Registered Practical Nurse as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, and the policies of the Hospital.

Requirements:

  1. Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  2. Membership in RPNAO is preferred.
  3. Current BCLS.
  4. Basic computer skills.
  5. Intent to pursue specialty certification where applicable.
  6. If graduated prior to 2005, Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Physical Assessment for RPNs courses are a requirement for employment within scope of practice.
  7. Mandatory Covid-19 vaccination (3 doses).
