JOB SUMMARY

The Recreation Summer Student will work closely with the Recreation Coordinator to assist in program planning, organizing, and implementing recreation and leisure programs for the residents of the Extended Care Wing. Recreation programs are to be appropriate and relevant to individual client needs, interests and abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be between 15-30 years old at the beginning of the employment period.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Shows willingness to learn and develop knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Long-Term Care or with the geriatric population is considered an asset.
  • Certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Mandatory Covid-19 vaccination.
